DevLog Patch Notes:
GM-Led Table Flow Update
We’ve pushed a major update to multiplayer scene checks and shared rolls across the game. The focus of this patch was to make the app feel more like a real tabletop session: the GM runs the scene, calls for the roll they want, chooses who is acting, and decides where the outcome lands.
What’s New
- GM-led scene checks are now wired into more of the game, including the Province Map, Last Sea, Yessod, Galaxy, World That Was, Combat, and the shared campaign tools in the Quick Panel / VTT flow.
- The GM can now choose who rolls, who receives the outcome, and whether a check is aimed at one character or the whole party.
- The GM can override the website’s suggested roll. If the site suggests Lead vs DD8, the GM can instead request Control vs DD8, Mind vs DD8, or any other appropriate roll.
- Targeted roll prompts now properly show up for the player being asked to roll.
- Rewards and penalties from GM-called rolls now land correctly on the appropriate character sheet.
Rules & Resolution Updates
- Success on a GM-called roll now always grants +1 Successful Roll.
- Failure consequences now always equal the failed margin.
- Failure consequences are now standardized to three types only: Mental Stress, Damage, or Radiation.
- Party-based consequences are now handled more cleanly when the GM wants the whole table to feel the result.
- Push Your Luck is now better integrated into the shared roll flow:
- Push Your Luck costs 2 TMW.
- Push Your Luck steps the Dread die up before the roll.
- On a Push Your Luck success: Body / Strike / Shoot grants Empowered, Mind / Control grants Focused, Lead / Spirit grants Bolstered, and Defend grants Protected.
- On a Push Your Luck failure: Body / Strike / Shoot grants Weakened, Mind / Control grants Distracted, Lead / Spirit grants Shaken, and Defend grants Vulnerable.
Player Experience Improvements
- When the GM asks for a roll, the prompt now pulls from the player’s actual character sheet stats and modifiers.
- Players can now choose relevant bonuses before rolling, including Personal Flavor, Mutation bonuses, and item / gear bonuses.
- Bonus-die style items are now part of the flow, including cases where an item adds a Valor Die or similar bonus to a specific roll.
- Groups that prefer physical dice now have a smoother GM-facing flow for manual resolution and recorded outcomes.
Surface Coverage
- Province Map scene checks now follow the GM-led shared-roll structure.
- Last Sea weather and sea-scene checks now tie into the same campaign resolution flow.
- Yessod observation checks now support GM assignment and shared resolution.
- Galaxy observation and related scene checks now support the same tabletop-style handoff.
- World That Was district scene checks now support GM-controlled acting characters and consequences.
- Combat scene checks now respect the same shared GM authority instead of forcing the wrong character into the roll.
- Quick Panel and VTT campaign tools now support shared prompts, pending checks, and GM-side resolution more cleanly.
Fixes
- Fixed an issue where a GM-triggered interaction could roll with the wrong character.
- Fixed an issue where the player would not always see the GM-requested roll prompt.
- Fixed an issue where a successful player response did not always grant its bonus correctly.
- Improved shared-roll sync so targeted outcomes resolve more reliably and stale pending checks do not reappear.
This update is part of a bigger push to make multiplayer feel like everyone is sitting at the same table with the GM guiding the story.
