Fred Cole was born in Texas but raised in the Chattanooga suburbs of Ooltewah-Collegedale in southeast Tennessee. Throughout his life, he has been engaged in the political process of our country. For many years he operated Indian River Marina on Norris Lake. He became a leader and chairman of the Tennessee Commission on National and Community Service (now known as Volunteer Tennessee) and a leader of America’s Promise in Tennessee.
