I was born reading books. Not really, but pretty much.

I was in the middle of my first year as a middle school language arts teacher when I realized I might have taken a slight detour—what I really wanted was to be a writer and artist. It wasn’t until the birth of my two sons

that I found the courage (and creative fuel) to leave teaching behind and embrace the creative life I'd always dreamed of—a life shaped not only by a drive to create, but by a desire to show my boys that living authentically and doing what you love is one of the bravest things you can do.

Today, I'm the heart behind Nova Book Design and Nova Vita Press, where I help bring your stories to life through illustration, design, and a touch of magic.

I believe in the healing power of words, the beauty of becoming, and the importance of whimsy and wonder.

I live in the rainy Pacific Northwest with my charming husband of 25+ years, my incredible teen boys, a Great Dane

diva, and a rotating cast of soul-filling creative projects.
