Meet the Guy Behind the Tent

Hey, I'm John! I'm the photographer behind OR Portraits, based in Largo, Florida, and the guy who somehow earned the nickname Tent Boy.

I've always enjoyed finding creative ways to put my photography skills to work. One day, I decided to see if I could turn a simple 10×10 pop-up canopy into a fully functional portrait studio and take my photography business directly to the people.

A few lights, some backdrops, a whole lot of equipment, and several questionable decisions later, Tent Boy was born!

What started as an experiment became a way to meet potential clients, offer affordable portraits at local markets, and introduce more people to my photography business.

I'm not a business guru promising six-figure weekends. I'm a working photographer experimenting with an idea, learning what works (and what doesn't), and sharing the experience along the way.

That's why I created the Tent Boy Pop-Up Portrait Studio Quick Start Guide — to help other photographers explore the idea without having to figure everything out from scratch.
