We met in 2004 and while we both are invested in equity ,belonging, and activism work, we understood that being a multi-racial couple brought unique experiences and challenges. We, maybe like you, found ourselves navigating where we would not only be accepted but embraced by others. We have sat at restaurants to never be served and have witnessed others surprise when they learned who our partners are. 

Then, when we had children, we found ourselves making choices and having conversations for our children's well-being and best interest. In fact, many of the questions in this workbook are questions we have asked one another as we navigate how to best parent our multi-racial children. We have sought resources and recognized they are scarce.

This workbook is not absolute; there will always be more questions and we know we don't have the answers for you. Though, we hope this workbook can spur the conversations that will deepen couples' love and legacy of unity and belonging.
