About Dr. Krystal L. Clemons
Dr. Krystal L. Clemons is the Founder and CEO of Our Village Consulting, an educational consulting firm dedicated to strengthening school counseling programs through family and community engagement, professional development, and keynote speaking. She holds a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision and is a Licensed School Counselor (LSC), Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), Nationally Certified School Counselor (NCSC), and Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS).
With close to two decades of experience in school counseling and counselor education, Dr. Clemons has trained hundreds of school counselors and educators across the country, helping them build sustainable programs rooted in genuine partnership with the families and communities they serve. In 2021, she was recognized by the American School Counselor Association as a notable Black school counseling professional for her contributions to the field, and in 2025 she received the Dr. Christine Darden STEM Community Partnerships Award.
She is the author of It Takes a Village to Raise a Classroom: Black Family Wisdom in Education, which reached #1 on Amazon in Cultural Pedagogies, and the developer of The Village Model of Community Engagement©, a framework that helps schools move beyond surface-level outreach into authentic, lasting family partnership.
An award-winning international speaker with engagements spanning Italy and Ghana, Dr. Clemons brings both scholarly depth and practical, on-the-ground experience to every counselor she trains. She lives with her husband, a United States Marine Corps veteran, and their two children.
