Justice for Prentice Ponds: It’s Time to Join Hands as a Community

With the messed justice system, biased and unfair trials have become a norm. Prentice Ponds also became a victim of this unjust system when he was sentenced to Life plus 25 years for a crime he never committed. If not for this railroading, he would be living happily with his family.

The gut-wrenching story of Prentice Ponds is extremely painful to hear. It’s time we unite and support him.

While he got jail time in the past, he turned around his life for his beloved kids. Now more than anything, he deserves a fair trial to prove his innocence!

The Truth Behind Allegations

Back in 2014, Prentice Ponds bought a Chevy Camaro from eBay and parked it in front of his house. But a woman damaged his vehicle by backing her U-Haul. So, he contacted the repair shop to inspect the damages and informed the insurance company.

It wasn’t until a few months later that the agency contacted him regarding the claim. Things started taking a bad turn when the insurance investigator got aggressive with him. He implied that the claim was fraudulent and the vehicle was purchased with pre-existing damage. Then he proceeded to threaten Mr. Ponds with his record and attacked him in his home.

Prentice Ponds didn’t want to get into trouble. So, he tried to calm him down and defended himself. He gave the insurance agent water and paper towels for his injury. Also, he captured photos to prove his innocence and called the police to report the incident.

Police arrived shortly after and interviewed both parties. The insurance investigator claimed Ponds filed a fraudulent claim, attacked him, and stole his paperwork. On the other hand, the body shop employee said that the vehicle was actually hit in the front recently and needed repair work. His statement was enough to prove that Mr. Prentice Ponds didn’t file a fake claim.

A week later, they arrested Prentice Ponds despite the lack of evidence against him. He was released when the investigator said he didn’t want to press charges. But he was arrested again a few months later.

Prentice Ponds had captured photos of the incident but his phone was damaged. When he recovered the images, the court refused to give him a chance to present concrete evidence. He was sentenced to life in prison plus 25 years and has been in prison since 2017.
