Non-profit Organizations are Vital to a Community


According the Foundation Group, "There are approximately 1.8 million nonprofit organizations in the U.S." (2022). Nonprofit organizations serves as a gateway for funding to reach underserved communities while providing much needed resources. Most federal funds being dispersed into communities travel through via services provided by nonprofit and governmental agencies. 


During the month of April, hosts' Angela K. Chambers and Sondia O. Bell are interview Founders of nonprofit organizations founded in Tulsa and serving the community. Kicking off the series, Angela interviewed and discussed the mission of Jacob's Bridge to Learning, Inc. with co-host Sonida, the Founder. 


Jacob's Bridge to Learning, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization established in 2020. Named after Bell's son who was diagnosed with Autism at the age of 3, the mission is, "To enrich the lives of children and teens with Autism by linking them with a certified parishioner so they may have equal learning opportunities to attend private and public schools." And the vision is to enrich the educational trajectory of Autistic children all around the world.


On week two, the duo interviewed Kelli Cooper, Founder of Universal Hands Foundation. The purpose of Universal Hands is to "Bring restoration to the community by cultivation new ways of building long lasting relationships, restoring bridges of opportunity, implementing financial literacy and advance technology and education for future generations to come." With functional operations in Tulsa, Oklahoma and New York, Kelli is the "Collaborator." She works to connect various businesses and organizations to meet the needs of the community. 


This Thursday, April 21, 2022, Angela and Sondia will sit with Elnora Brown, Founder and Girl Talk Inc. Elnora is her brand. When you see and talk with her, you know it's a good girl talk! Elnora is has made it her life's mission to help other people. She meets them where they are and helps on so many levels. To meet Elnora is to meet a friend. You've gotta tune in from 2-3 pm cst to hear all about Girl Talk, her upcoming events and get the tea on who the fourth AWESOME nonprofit founder will be chatting with Angela and Sondia on the Refocused and Informed Radio Talk Show.
