About Me
Kimberly Godinho is a California artist, instructor, and founder of The Painted Cork Art Studios, known for creating one of the most beloved Paint & Sip experiences in the state. With over 30 years of teaching experience and a professional background spanning oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, sculpture, and illustration, Kimberly has dedicated her career to making art accessible, joyful, and beginner‑friendly.
She launched The Painted Cork in 2010 on Sutter Street in historic Old Town Folsom, later expanding to Midtown Sacramento and Santa Cruz. Over the next decade, her studios became community favorites, hosting thousands of classes and consistently sold‑out events — including her signature Paint Your Pet, a class format she created in 2010 and continues to teach today.
Kimberly holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Ringling School of Art and Design, graduating with honors and earning awards, scholarships, and a residency in New York City. Her artwork has been exhibited and sold in California, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, Florida, and Maryland, and she has completed numerous commissions as a portrait artist, muralist, and children’s book illustrator.
Today, Kimberly continues to teach in‑person classes while developing a new warehouse studio on Delaware Avenue in Santa Cruz’s westside. She is also building a collection of high‑quality digital resources — including instructor eBooks, class systems, and paint‑and‑sip guides designed to help studios, artists, and creative entrepreneurs run successful, profitable events.
When she’s not painting or teaching, Kimberly enjoys gardening and spending time at her Aptos home with her son Michael, her two labs Sugar and Bruno, and her three cats Oreo, Pickles, and Bocephus.
