About Me

I’m Peeter Jakobson, M.D., a retired diagnostic radiologist, #1 bestselling medical author, and late‑career writer.

I spent forty years reading images and reports for patients in Kentucky and Florida before turning to writing full time. Now I create practical guides and workbooks for real-life problems: money leaks, household headaches, online annoyances, writing projects, and everyday decisions that get more expensive when ignored.

My work has been featured in Illumination on Medium, where I write about organ systems, lab tests, medical billing mistakes, supplements that don’t do what they claim, and health strategies for older adults. I was also interviewed by Dr Mehmet Yildiz in “Insightful Conversations with Dr Peeter Jakobson, M.D.,” discussing my medical background, writing, publishing, and late-career creative work. I also write memoir and technology pieces, including a series about the night I ditched a Mooney airplane into Florida Bay and lived to tell the story.

I was born in a displaced‑persons camp to Estonian refugees, became a physician and radiologist, traded options and futures for years, and now focus on writing that actually helps people. I live in Florida, still swim and ski, ride motorcycles, and try, as Clint Eastwood put it, not to let the old man in.
