I am an author who does not feel tied to any one particular genre of writing. My first novel was The War Wolf, am historical fiction work, however, I read across a wide spectrum of literature and I feel that it is the story that is the most important aspect of any book. A good story is not restricted to any particular genre and so neither am I as a writer.

One technical issue that I consider very important is doing the necessary research. I spend many hours establishing the facts behind my stories. The Sorrow Song Trilogy books have been praised by historians for the factual accuracy that I achieved in my representation of the early medieval period. The subject of eugenics was also fully researched for my book, Eugenica, and this revealed a surprising list of famous people who were supporters of this false science in the early 20th century.
