“What is the name of this unsung hero?”
That's the question we are about to uncover. To make it more interesting, let's play a guessing game.
“Who is this hero?” Like most of us, an ordinary man with no superpowers, whose dedication to his role is beyond measure. He has a unique sense of humor that'll make you laugh even when he's talking seriously. An unsung hero who has been battling evil enemies lurking in the darkness of their worlds. Some of his battles are definitely unknown to us.
Your first guess, “The Dark Knight?”
That's a close one but no. Although it's somehow right since he also has that charm and is fond of theatrics. Similarly, he battles criminals in the dark since most of his fights are unknown to us. That includes his personal battle that led to the pursuit of his purpose and heroic goal. He also has apprentices and allies like Bruce Wayne's Batgirl, Robin, Alfred, Catwoman, Beyond, and others more. Our hero has allies who are also joining his fight.
“What is the significant difference between Batman and our unsung hero?”
Hmmmmm... that's a tough question but one is for sure, they have different costumes!
“So, what did you say? Is it Iron Man?”
Nope, it's not him. Iron Man has Jarvis, Friday, and other Artificial Intelligence, and our hero has none. Maybe he has Siri and Google, but that's not the point. Though again, he also has that charm and theatrics. But Ironman is way too theatrical compared to our humble hero. Also, instead of AI, he uses his own strength and intelligence most of the time, and he doesn't have that fancy suit that shoots beams and lasers. Although, for what he has been doing, we can say that he has a laser, a laser of focus!
“So, it’s Hawkeye?”
Yes! But no. He didn't have a bow and arrow. But yes, just like our hero, he is in an Intelligence field of work. As his role requires not only an investigative mind but a specialized skill that will let him fight evil forces and teach his apprentices the same skills to do so.
The author has a crush on Hailee Steinfeld (a look-alike of my Jamie) who played Disney's Hawkeye, so it's definitely not her.
Our unsung hero, as we have disclosed from the start, is an ordinary man, a man!
“Is that your favorite character, Sherlock Holmes? Maybe you have a crush on him too?”
Haha, that's funny!
Anyways, that's a good guess. Let's make a checklist. Sherlock is in an intelligence work, an ordinary man with no superpowers, has a unique sense of humor, fighting enemies unknown, has that charm, is fond of theatrics, pursuing a heroic goal which is fighting crime, has lots of apprentices and allies (from Dr. Watson, his brother Mycroft, the Government at some point, his fans, Irene, Detective Inspector Lestrade, Molly, etc.), different costumes for sure, uses his intelligence, doesn't shoot lasers and beams, has a laser focus, doesn't have a bow and arrow as the main weapon, has specialized intelligence, not Hailee Steinfeld, and a man!
Wow! The checklist is completed!
However, I hope everyone notices what the author has been repeating from the beginning of this article and from the title, that our hero…

You thought that was already the name of our hero, didn't you? But don't worry, I won't hold this too long and I'll put a face to our hero. Let me introduce you to Captain AMLA, Mr. Nolan Nabong. He is an accredited trainer of the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) of the Philippines, and like other professionals in Anti-Money Laundering, you will not usually hear his name and screen name unless you are one of his trainees and colleagues.
My point for writing this article is to send a message to all, whatever our profession and business may be, including those doing something like what Cap does, you are doing great!
