transformative leader dedicated to protecting communities through science, education,

and innovation. She serves as Chief Scientist and Professor of Meteorology at Jackson

State University, where she leads strategic research initiatives that bridge weather

science, artificial intelligence, and community impact.

the NOAA Science Advisory Board, where she provides strategic guidance on data, AI,

and national scientific priorities.

Dr. Sims holds a B.S. in Meteorology from Jackson State University and a Ph.D. in

Atmospheric Sciences from Howard University. Through Protect the House, she

empowers readers to turn knowledge into action because preparedness is how we

protect our people, our homes, and our legacy.

As the founder of Thee Anomaly, LLC and digital creator of Weather in Mississippi, Dr.

Sims translates complex science into culturally relevant, life-saving information for

underserved and vulnerable communities. Her signature message, "Protect the House.

Weather doesn’t discriminate, but impact does,” drives her mission to ensure every

community is informed, prepared, and protected.
