How Quote Follow-up Kit works: a step-by-step example

See how Quote Follow-up Kit works: a fictional example

Before buying the £19 kit, here is a worked example of the workflow. Alex, Sam and Robin are fictional demo records included in the tool, not customers or sales results. This is a written walkthrough, not a recording or a product screenshot.

1. Start with the built-in demo

Open the downloaded quote-follow-up.html file in your browser and choose Load fictional demo. On an empty tracker, the demo adds Alex (demo): Brand identity, £1,200, Open; Sam (demo): Website refresh, £2,400, Open; and Robin (demo): Brochure design, £650, Won. The two open quotes total £3,600. Open quote value is not revenue. The demo sets the next follow-up dates to the day it is loaded.

2. Prepare a message

Choose Draft beside Alex’s quote, then select Check receipt, Invite questions or Close the loop. In version 1.1, changes to the stage or sign-off update an untouched draft. Edited wording is kept until you choose Rebuild draft and confirm replacing it. Draft wording is not saved across page reloads or in backups: copy it to your email before closing the browser. For Check receipt, the message body reads:

Hi Alex (demo),

I’m checking that my quote for Brand identity reached you. Let me know if you would like me to resend it or clarify anything.

Best,

[Your name]

Replace the fictional greeting and placeholder with the details you actually need. Review the wording, then choose Copy draft. If your browser blocks copying, select and copy the text manually. Paste it into your own email application, check the recipient and subject, and send it yourself. The kit does not send email.

3. Record the next action

After sending, choose Edit beside the quote, set the next follow-up date and add a short note, then Save quote. Choose Due follow-ups to see open records dated today or earlier. The tool does not send reminders or notifications. If the client accepts or declines, update the status to Won or Closed.

4. Export before you finish

Choose Export backup and check that the JSON file downloaded. Keep it somewhere you control. Records are stored in the browser when storage is available; clearing browser data or moving the HTML file can make them unavailable. Imports add records and can create duplicates, so avoid repeatedly importing the same backup into an existing list.

Is it right for you?

The kit is intended for a solo freelancer or independent service business that wants a small, manual follow-up routine. It includes the HTML tool and a customer guide for £19 once, with no subscription. It is not shared team software, cloud sync, an automatic email sequence or a promise of more sales.View the Quote Follow-up Kit product details
