Meet Henson

Hello, I'm Henson 🐾

Henson lived in London in a small ground-floor house with a small private garden and access to a large green. His owner couldn't walk him due to his strength.

He is a loving male Ridgeback around 4 years of age. Due to his strength, he will need an understanding and experienced owner.

Who can I live with...

Henson has never shown any issues with humans of any age and has been in public events and spaces.

He's been fine with other large dogs (Tibetan Mastiff, English Mastiff) but is wary of small dogs.

He has a high prey drive and it's recommended he's homed with someone who doesn’t have any small animals or where he is the only pet.

More information

Sadly, since we've had Henson, we've discovered he has bad hips with dysplasia present. He will likely need ongoing hydrotherapy for this which the RRWT will support.

Happy Ever Afters! - Our Rescues, Now Safely in their Forever Homes

  • Cooper - 8 year old male.

Cooper came to the trust through absolutely no fault of his own. He was 8 years old when his owner became seriously ill and sadly passed away and there was no-one who could take him.

He was a good boy at Rosehill Kennels and the staff and volunteers soon fell in love with his kind and gentle nature and enjoyed taking him on walks and giving him treats. 🦴🍪

  • It wasn't looking good!

However, a kennel is no place for a long-term stay for a lovely maturing gentleman who was confused and feeling the loss of his owner and his home, and everyone was keen to find him his forever home as swiftly as possible.

However, his age plus a few chronic health issues were putting enquirers off, even though the trust was happy to continue to support the medication costs 😢

  • But then....

Just as we decided to share Cooper on social media, longtime supporters and all-round lovely RR people, Adrienne & Alistair rang to say they were ready to rescue again and were looking for an older, quieter dog and our hearts lifted. They met Cooper on Valentine's Day and it was love at first sight! Just look at this picture they sent us of his first night with them. 💗 xx
