About Me
Hi, I’m John Radford, the teacher behind Radford Mathematics.
I’m an international mathematics teacher and IB examiner with more than 15 years of experience teaching mathematics, including IB Mathematics at both Standard and Higher Level. I graduated from Imperial College London and also hold degrees in engineering and applied mathematics. I was offered a place at the University of Oxford, but chose Imperial after receiving a full scholarship.
Radford Mathematics grew out of a simple belief: students should not have to choose between getting good exam results and genuinely understanding mathematics. The best resources should help them do both.
My notes, books, worksheets and video tutorials are designed to explain not only what to do, but why the mathematics works. I aim to make difficult ideas clear, structured and approachable, with carefully chosen examples, diagrams and plenty of opportunities to practice.
Everything I create is based on the same materials and explanations I would be happy to use with my own students. I want Radford Mathematics to be a place where students can learn at their own pace, fill gaps in their understanding, prepare confidently for examinations and, hopefully, discover that mathematics makes a lot more sense than they once thought.
Clear explanations. Deep understanding. Better mathematics.
