Simone O. Higginbotham is a 51-year-old divorced and single mother of one daughter, grandmother of Harper Florida-Marie, community activist, AmeriCorps Alumni, Domestic Violence Survivor, Entrepreneur and a Motivational Speaker. Simone was reared by a single mother in one of Baton Rouge's oldest African American neighborhoods. She does her best to be a pillar in the community but also let’s everyone know she is a work in progress. She admits that she has flaws and may not be what others want her to be but all that she can be by loving herself, curves and all.

Simone is a self-starter, very determined, hardworking, and diligent. A woman who wears a hat of many colors, Simone is the CEO of Rebirth Weekend of Legends and Rebirth Magazine, and community volunteer, On April 12, 2015, she released her long-awaited memoir about her journey during her abusive marriage.
