About Me
Randy Pigeon is a veteran, storyteller, and seeker of quiet truths in loud places. Born with a soldier’s backbone and a poet’s heart, Randy served in the U.S. military during some of the most turbulent years of the Iraq War. His time in Baghdad forged not only his discipline, but also a deep sensitivity to the spiritual complexities of conflict and the humanity that survives even in warzones.
With eyes that have seen both the brutality of war and the softness of mercy, Randy writes from experience—real, raw, and reverent. His photo captures the essence of the man behind the words: steady gaze, thoughtful calm, a subtle strength behind that salt-and-pepper beard, and a hint of vulnerability earned through hard seasons.
Randy doesn’t just write memoirs—he carves out prayers in prose, offering reflections born in fire and tempered by grace. When he’s not writing, he’s usually chasing down good coffee, digging into old records, or walking in the quiet, listening for God in the rustle of the trees.
His debut memoir, Prayers Over Baghdad, is more than a war story. It is a meditation on faith, memory, and the invisible threads that bind us across cultures and across time.
