This Experience Is For You If

  • You keep finding yourself in the same dynamics with different people and you are tired of not understanding why
  • You give more than you receive and somewhere along the way you started calling that love
  • You are ready to look at your patterns honestly, without shame and without making yourself the villain
  • You want to move forward, whether that means a new relationship, a better one, or simply a clearer version of yourself

This Experience Is Not For You If

  • You are looking for a quick fix or a list of dating tips
  • You are not ready to be honest with yourself yet
  • You want someone to confirm it was all their fault
  • You are still waiting for someone else to change before you do anything
  • You are not ready to be the common denominator in your own story

Where This Came From

I'm Chanita' Christmas.

Writer, photographer, storyteller, and the woman behind Returning Unarmored.

I built this brand because I needed it to exist.

I spent years being the strong one. The fixer. The over-giver. The woman who loved hard and called exhaustion devotion. I ignored red flags, carried weight that wasn't mine, and built armor so thick I almost forgot who was inside it.

I've lived in six countries. I've survived things I don't talk about in public yet. I've started over more times than I can count. And somewhere between Vietnam and Georgia, between who I was and who I'm becoming, I started returning to myself.

Returning Unarmored is that journey made into something you can hold, read, and use. Everything I create here is rooted in real questions I had to ask myself. Real patterns I had to face. Real armor I had to take off.

And I document all of it. In words, in journals, and through my lens.

I'm a published photographer with over a decade behind the camera. I've shot in six countries, captured strangers mid-story, and found meaning in the quiet moments most people walk past. That eye for truth doesn't stay behind the camera, it shows up in everything I build here.

The photography you see throughout this brand isn't stock. It's mine. It's the world I've moved through, the beauty I've found in unlikely places, and the visual language of what returning to yourself actually looks like.

And then there's the audio.

For the past five years I've been recording myself. Voice notes at 2am. Voice memos in parking lots. Long rambling recordings on hard days and quiet ones on good days. Without knowing it I was building an audio archive of a woman in the middle of becoming something.

That archive is part of this brand too. Because sometimes the most honest documentation isn't a polished essay or a perfect photo. Sometimes it's just your own voice, raw and unfiltered, saying the true thing out loud.

This is not a brand about being healed. It's a brand about doing the work.

Honestly. Without performance. Without shame.

Welcome. I'm glad you found this.
