I am a musician and have been all my life. I am also a big fan of technology; especially technology that is used in the music performance realm. The BeatBuddy is such a forward looking tool for the solo performer who is looking to accompany himself with a full band sound while still retaining the flexibility to improvise. The software tools I have developped are helpful in that they are the necessary steps that lead to setting up the BeatBuddy in advance of the performance so that when a song selection is made, this instantly communicates what settings should be made to the BeatBuddy (Tempo, folder, beat as well as volume).

There are a number of ways to do all this and although the list and the Ableton Live Set do not do that in and of themselves, they are probably the best way to get to that next step. For me the next step was to encode each of my songs with the MIDI information contained in these files (folder and beat). I use SongBook Pro because I use a PC and Android.

This was a fair amount of work and I hope these offerings will help others as others have helped me along my journey. I have learned that helping each other is the best and most effective way to move forward.
