AUTHOR: SALIDOR C. COETZEE

The author was born on 18 December 1958 in South Africa. He was married to Charlotte for more than 28 years, until she passed away on 4 June 2010, due to breast cancer. He is the proud father of four children and grandfather of eight grandchildren.

The author visited many countries, among other worked and lived in both Iran and Saudi Arabia, two uniquely different Muslim countries. Different yet have so much in common. After his final work assignment in Saudi Arabia, the author visited the Philippines six times in 2019, where his career as an author started, inspired by the amount of poverty observed in the Philippines. During his one visit he donated computer equipment to a school in Manilla, the capital city of the Philippines. The school is in dire need of IT equipment and air conditioners. One of his colleagues who worked with the author in Saudi Arabia is a teacher at the school. They both worked at the same time for ARAMCO, Saudi Arabia on the same project, and shared the same accommodation in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia. Our home was located hallway between Yanbu City and Royal Commission.

Yanbu is a port city on the Red Sea coast of western Saudi Arabia. Its Al Nakheel area is known for Al Fairouz Park, with grassy lawns. Seafront Subh Park’s tree-lined walkways look toward the beaches of Oyster Island. North along the coast, the Al Bahr area has an old town and a waterfront corniche. Nearby, sandy beaches line Sharm Yanbu Bay, with dive sites on the offshore coral reefs.

The author developed a strong commitment towards Philippines after becoming friends with several Filipino’s whilst working in Saudi Arabia, even together attending “The Jesus is Lord Church” in secret and playing tennis at a tennis club in Yanbu Royal Commission on the western side of Saudi Arabia, close to the Red Sea.

He developed a strong passion for education and sharing of knowledge and experiences, since coming from a poor background himself. He was raised in a Christian environment by a humble caring family. A Philippine friend teaches at a government school in Manilla, which hosts more than 10,000 learners. The school has more than 300 teachers, working different shifts. Three school shifts a day are conducted.

Apart from more than 20years experience at SASOL South Africa, the author also worked in Iran and Saudi Arabia, two countries with distinct different diverse cultures. He developed an intense love and attraction for both countries and its people in many ways. Most important, he has a deep understanding of the two country’s cultures and religions. Global experiences that entrenched a deep sense that all human beings are created equal to the Image of God, the Creator, and Oneness. God is the Greatest who loves all His Creation, without exception, exclusion, and discrimination. It is the responsibility and accountability of all human beings to individually and collectively honour and respect God and His creation, collaboratively improve the living standards of all human beings. At least make a constructive effort to do so. To make a substantial difference, it requires quantum leaps in a positive direction, with the same effort and commitment.

Salidor became an author, after inspired by Penguin, Partridge Publishing, author Solutions with their Corporate Head Office based in Bloomington, Indiana, USA, their Asian branch located in Cebu City, Philippines, to officially register as author. However, the University of Pretoria, South Africa already recognised him officially as an author of the book titled “Creating High Performance Value Chain Organizations (HPVCO)”. HPVCO, was his Research Project as final submission for obtaining a master’s in business administration (MBA) degree, a degree officially granted to him in 2006. An MBA thesis completed with permission by the University of Pretoria in a uniquely different way.

The book titled “HPVCO” was electronically published, Digitised by the Open Scholarship and Digitisation Programme, 2017 of the University of Pretoria.

The author commenced his studies through distant learning at the University of South Africa (UNISA), while at the same time doing compulsory military service in the then South African Defence Force. He completed at the same time a Mechanized Infantry Junior Leadership (JL) course successfully in the military. After released from his duties in the military, he went on to successfully complete his 4year B Compt. Accounting degree. He also later completed a master’s in business administration (MBA) through the University of Pretoria or the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS), South African Institutions. He completed an Executive Development Program (EDP) in 1999 at the Business School of the University of Stellenbosch, Western Cape South Africa, as well as a SASOL 2020 Leadership Program at GIBS before he officially completed his full 4-year MBA degree, one year exempted based on his B Compt. Accounting degree obtained prior through UNISA.

NOTE:

Author's first two books were prepared and published by Partridge Publishing, Bloomington, Indiana, USA, the Asian branch based in Cebu City, Philippines. A country with areas of excellence, but also huge poverty. The author supported a school in Manilla with IT equipment, more than 10,000 children in the school, 3 school shifts a day and more than 300 teachers. Unimaginable in this day and age still so much poverty. Nobody asked to be born into this world. Every child in the world is entitled to a free high quality education. Teach a man how to catch his own fish, apart from giving a man a fish when needed (charity).
