Dr. Teke Apalata, M.D., Ph.D., MBA. (Southern African Training Academy)

Dr. Teke Apalata (known as Jean-Ruffin by close friends) is a trained medical doctor by profession. He is an academic, digital marketer, online media personality, investor in the real estate market and entrepreneur. He holds a Ph.D. from the Nelson R Mandela School of Medicine, University of KwaZulu-Natal and a Masters’ degree in Business and Administration (MBA) from the Management College of Southern Africa. He is a former Fogarty International Research Fellow with the Fogarty International Centre, Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, and Institute for Global Health - Bethesda, MD, 20814, Maryland, USA. He won numerous prizes and awards including the International Golden Key Lifetime Award in 2009 offered to the best students of his generation. In 2006, he founded African Health Provider Organization (AHPO), a not-for-profit organization that provided free foods, healthcare and elementary education to more than 150 refugee children in Durban, South Africa for two consecutive years. In 2013, Dr. Apalata founded the SATA® Group (Southern African Training Academy) that includes currently three companies – SATA Education, SATA Publishing Corporation and SATA Records. He is a writer of both business and health related books and articles.
