Japan Airport Onsen Guide 2026: Haneda, Narita, New Chitose, Centrair & Kansai

Checked: 28 September 2026. This guide compares five airport-area bath options by the detail that matters most when you are carrying luggage: whether the bath is inside the terminal, directly connected, or requires ground transport.

Quick answer: Haneda is the easiest premium option after an international arrival. New Chitose is the strongest true in-terminal overnight option. Centrair is best for a daytime pre-flight bath. Narita's SoranoYu needs a shuttle buffer. Kansai's First Cabin offers a large public bath, but it is not a natural hot spring.

1. HANEDA — IZUMI TENKU NO YU

Access: directly connected to Terminal 3 through Haneda Airport Garden, landside. It is not inside the secure departure area.

Hours and price checked: the facility operates 24 hours, but the baths close for cleaning from 10:00 to 12:30. The official visitor price is ¥4,800 for adults; hotel arrangements and other categories differ.

Practical warning: wheeled suitcases are not permitted inside. The official FAQ directs visitors to the second-floor hospitality center or coin lockers. Children aged 0–3 and people wearing diapers cannot enter. Congestion controls and irregular maintenance closures may apply.

2. NARITA — SORANOYU SPA RESORT

Access: near Narita Airport, not inside a terminal. The free shuttle serves Terminals 2 and 3; the official access page says it does not serve Terminal 1.

Best for: travelers with several hours, an overnight capsule plan, or time after an early arrival. Do not treat this as a quick one-hour layover activity: the shuttle, baggage handling and return journey add risk.

The current schedule lists bathing and day use until 23:45 while the capsule hotel operates overnight. Maintenance closures and timetable changes occur. Confirm the return shuttle before entering the bath.

Tattoos: tattoos small enough to be concealed by the palm may use the public bath. The official English FAQ describes a reservable private bath option for larger tattoos.

3. NEW CHITOSE — NEW CHITOSE AIRPORT ONSEN

Access: inside the domestic terminal, Oasis Park on the fourth floor, opposite the airport theater.

Hours and price checked: 10:00 to 09:00 the next morning, final admission 07:30. Adult admission for ages 13 and above is ¥2,600 and includes bathing, yukata and towels. After 01:00 an additional adult late-night fee of ¥2,000 applies. A morning-bath plan from 05:00 to 08:00 is listed at ¥1,300 for adults.

Entry rules: people with tattoos, tattoo-like stickers or paint are refused entry. Under-18s cannot enter alone. Large luggage that does not fit a locker can be held at the cloakroom after reception.

4. CENTRAIR — SOLA SPA FU NO YU

Access: inside Chubu Centrair International Airport Terminal 1, Sky Town on the fourth floor, before security.

Hours: 08:00–22:00, final admission 21:00.

Price change: through 30 September 2026, adult admission is ¥1,300 without a towel or ¥1,500 with a towel. From 1 October 2026, the official Japanese notice lists adult prices of ¥1,400/¥1,500/¥1,600 without a towel and ¥1,600/¥1,700/¥1,800 with a towel, varying by weekday, weekend or peak-day category.

Tattoos: the official English page asks guests with tattoos or body art to cover them with stickers or similar products; covering stickers are sold at reception. This differs materially from New Chitose's rule.

5. KANSAI — FIRST CABIN KANSAI AIRPORT

Access: inside the Aeroplaza connected to Kansai Airport Station. This is a large public bath attached to a capsule hotel, not a natural hot spring.

The official day-use bath notice lists one hour at ¥1,800, including rental towels and amenities, and notes that prices may vary. The regular cleaning window is 12:00–15:00. An official maintenance notice also states that on 8 October 2026 the bath will be unavailable until 19:00. Check the facility notice for the day of travel.

THE AIRPORT-TIME RULE

Work backward from your boarding time: terminal transfer, baggage storage or collection, shower and drying time, dressing, payment, security and the walk back to the gate. A “one-hour bath” can consume two hours door to door. At Narita, add the shuttle schedule and a missed-bus buffer.

Baths are normally gender-separated and used without swimwear. Wash before entering, keep towels out of the water, tie up long hair and leave phones in the locker. Photography inside changing rooms and baths is prohibited.

Prices, hours, maintenance and admission rules can change. The figures above are the official information confirmed on 28 September 2026; use the linked official pages for the latest information and booking or access details.
