You passed training. Now what?
Where real-world driving starts to break what training didn’t prepare you for.
Where real-world driving starts to break what training didn’t prepare you for.
The gap between training, systems, and real-world experience.
Practical guides built from real-world safety and training experience.
Reflection on how people interact with systems, tools, and responsibility.
Fiction that explores those same ideas from a different angle.
Everything here shares the same foundation.

Safety & Training Supervisor
J. Arden Locke
I’m Alison Camp, a Safety & Training Supervisor in public transportation, creator of SafetyJean, and author writing under J. Arden Locke.
My work focuses on closing the gap between passing training and actually performing in real-world conditions.
I’ve trained and evaluated drivers through classroom instruction, closed course maneuvers, and on-the-road operations. Time and again, I’ve seen drivers meet the requirements—but struggle when pressure, timing, and real-world variables come into play.
That gap is where my focus lives.
Through SafetyJean, I create practical, experience-based guides that translate what instructors see every day—but what often goes unspoken in training.
As an author, I also explore broader ideas around systems, responsibility, and how we interact with the tools we rely on—most notably in Against Disposability.
Whether you're a driver, trainer, or part of a safety program, the goal is the same:
Improve real-world performance through better awareness and understanding.
This isn’t theory.
It’s built from the field.
