Entry 6 - Soul Living
It’s 5:00 a.m.
“Not this shit again,” I think, as I’m plugging in my treadmill.
Wake up 4:40.
Workout 5:15–6:00.
Clock in 7:30–9:00.
Eat dinner 6:30–7:30.
In bed 8:45–10:00.
Day after day. Routine after routine.
It’s the same rhythm — steady but stale.
And yet, something inside me knows I need this rhythm.
Still… as I hit start, I roll my eyes at life.
Because some days, discipline feels like déjà vu.
And then, it happened.
It was in this moment that I chose to put on my club music — yup, at 5 a.m.
Baltimore Club Music. 🎵
Loud. Unapologetic. Alive.
The treadmill was the same.
The routine was the same.
But I shifted the energy.
That morning, I remembered that play breaks the monotony.
Joy brings color back to what discipline dulls.
Sometimes it’s not about changing your life — it’s about changing your energy within it.
Because life on repeat isn’t punishment.
It’s practice.
And practice becomes sacred when infused with presence and play.
✨ Reflection Prompt
- Where in your life has routine turned into monotony?
- How can you reintroduce play, rhythm, or joy into your daily flow?
🌙 Affirmation
I find rhythm in repetition. I bring color to the ordinary. My joy is sacred, my flow is alive.
(take a breath)… this is well with my soul.
💫 Soul Living
Play doesn’t mean you’re off track — it means you’re in tune.
It’s the reminder that structure without joy is just survival.
