Hey sis,
In today’s fast-paced world, rest can feel like a luxury, something we only get when we’ve “earned it.” But as women of faith, God calls us to a different rhythm, one that isn’t measured by our productivity or the demands of life, but by His grace and presence.
Rest isn’t just sleeping or taking a break. It’s a spiritual practice, a conscious choice to release our burdens and trust that God is in control. Matthew 11:28–30 reminds us, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”
Renew our strength – Isaiah 40:31 promises, “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
Release performance pressure – Ephesians 2:8–9 reminds us, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God — not by works, so that no one can boast.”
Gain clarity and perspective – Psalm 46:10 encourages, “Be still, and know that I am God.”
Schedule Quiet Time – Even 10–15 minutes of prayer, reflection, or Bible reading can center your heart. “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105).
Surrender Your Burdens – Write down worries or stresses and pray over them, giving each to God. “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you” (1 Peter 5:7)
Create a Restful Space – Find a corner of your home that invites peace, away from screens and noise. “But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed” (Luke 5:16).
Practice Sabbath Mindset – Rest isn’t just a day, it’s an attitude of trusting God in every moment. “Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy” (Exodus 20:8).
Resting is more than a pause. It’s a radical act of faith that says, “God, I trust You with my life, my schedule, and my heart.” When we embrace rest, we are not being lazy; we are being obedient to the One who sustains us.
Sis, if you’re tired of hustling, overextending, or carrying burdens that aren’t yours to carry, I invite you to sit with God today. Let His grace fill your heart and give you the strength to move forward with peace, purpose, and confidence in who He created you to be.
