Honey garlic chicken is one of the popular Asia dishes. Known as a quick-cooking dish featuring tender chicken pieces coated in a sweet, sticky, and savory glaze.

INGREDIENTS:
Chicken Thighs (1.5 pounds)
Salt (1 tbsp)
Pepper (1 tbsp)
Cornstarch (1/2 cup)
Garlic Powder (2 tsp)
Onion Powder (2 tsp)
Green onion (1 bundle)
Neutral oil (1/3 cup)
Sauce ingredients:
Garlic (2 tbsp)
Honey (1/2 cup)
Soy sauce (1/3 cup)
Ginger (2 tsp)
Sesame oil (2 tsp)
Green onion (1/2 cup)
Water (1/2 cup)
DIRECTIONS:
Prep:
- Cut chicken into cube size pieces
- Mince garlic
- Cut 1/2 green onions into 2 inch pieces and mince the other 1/2
- Slice onions into large pieces
- Cut zucchini into quarters
- Prep sauce and set aside
- Season chicken with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder and set aside
- To a large skillet or medium heat, add oil
- Once heated add chicken and cook on all sides (flip over once crust develops)
- Remove chicken and place on a sheet pan (lined with paper towels) and set aside
- In the same skillet, add onions and zucchini and sauté for one to two minutes.
- Add sauce and allow to simmer for 5-10 minutes
- Add cornstarch slurry, stir, once sauce thicken turn off the heat
TIPS:
- Fresh garlic and ginger are highly recommended (if you don’t like cutting you can buy it frozen or they come in tube located in the produce section of the grocery store)
- Always taste your sauce before adding to the skillet. Adjust the ingredients to your preference.
- Double sauce ingredients for more
- I suggest using dark soy sauce as it is less salty and adds a deeper color
- Sesame seeds are optional
- Serve with rice, noodles, and/or cabbage slaw
