If there is one body in the sky that every horary astrologer watches before all others, it is the Moon.
In a birth chart the Moon describes your emotions and your inner world. But in horary it does something more active. The Moon is the messenger of the chart. She is the swiftest of the heavenly bodies, moving through the whole zodiac in less than a month, and as she moves she gathers up the story of your question and carries it forward.
When I cast a chart for your question, I look to see where the Moon is going. The planets she is about to meet, by aspect, often reveal what is coming: the obstacle you have not yet seen, the help arriving from an unexpected quarter, the moment the matter finally resolves. Her path is the unfolding of events in time.
The Moon also speaks to you. In many readings she is a second significator for the person asking, a quiet portrait of where your heart truly sits beneath the words of the question.
And she carries a warning, too. There are moments when the Moon makes no further aspect before leaving her sign, a condition the old masters called void of course. When the Moon is void, the tradition counsels caution: often the matter will come to nothing, or simply proceed without the drama you fear. Even silence, in horary, is an answer.
This is why the right moment matters so much. The Moon is always moving, and the sky she draws at the instant you ask is hers to narrate.
If a question is moving through you the way the Moon moves through the sky, bring it to me, and let us see where she is taking it.
