Shakiri Murrain has over 15 years of professional international business experience in supply chain management, product development and language/cultural training. His expertise includes a deep understanding of the Asian and Latin American cultures with the ability to turn interpersonal interaction into tangible business results.
As a 2005 graduate of the Howard University School of Business, Murrain studied International Business with concentrations: Finance and Insurance. Determined to build an international path, Murrain completed several Study Abroad programs during his matriculation at Howard University. Murrain has advanced proficiency in both Spanish and Mandarin.
In 2006, Murrain started his China career in Nanjing, China as the Account Manager for Asia International where he represented the company’s native Spanish-speaking clients. Murrain’s Spanish fluency was imperative as the clients communicated to China-based factories while importing and exporting consumer products. Murrain capitalized on the experiences gained while directly managing the manufacturing & export of promotional products for global clients. Murrain traveled extensively to execute Quality Assurance inspections between Jiangsu, Guangdong and Zhejiang provinces in addition to cultivating close business alliances with factory owners.
These collective experiences motivated Murrain to found the Product Development & Quality Assurance firm - Jade Trading Company. The company’s foundational pillars rest in international understanding, foreign language ability and client-based relationships.
Jade Trading Company’s quality control focus allowed the company to efficiently consult with global clients directly in order to achieve each objective for mass-production. With a corporate presence in the U.S., China and Latin America, Jade Trading Company seamlessly leveraged a client’s idea from concept to finished prototype. Murrain’s methodology on systematic execution with high integrity has effectively gained the company a strengthened clientele base.
As Director, Murrain elevated the company by bridging the interdependencies between diversity, inclusion and innovation. The product development and manufacturing partnerships Murrain has established in various countries placed Jade in a unique position to become a leader in consumer product manufacturing.
Murrain is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Mississippi Cares, LLC. This community-focused Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) company provides facility sanitization and PPE supply for commercial and residential spaces. With a specific focus on efficient supply chain management, Mississippi Cares assesses the client’s needs then implements a customized safety plan that fits the organization’s strategy.
