Shanta M Hogan

Shanta Hogan Walker is a walking, talking, modern-day miracle who knows firsthand what a second wind can do to someone's life trajectory. Shanta is intentional about giving God the glory for overcoming the obstacles and odds of being homeless with her family for 96 days. Shanta is serving her community and family by teaching others with faith-based principles on love, hope, and charity, enacting change everywhere she goes.

A native of Chicago's West Side neighborhoods, Shanta saw firsthand what struggling communities looked like and the people within them. Married to her devoted husband, Jessie Walker, for 5 years, this selfless mother of three, Tynaya, Derrick, and Kamren, has a heart for communities and their families.

Shanta's mission to help people has grown into a budding 501c(3) called Cora's Helping Hands Inc,® where she is the founder and CEO of this non-profit organization. Shanta is on a mission to help millions of families across the midwest recover, restore and revive from homelessness or whatever rough season they may be facing in their lives. Shanta's motto for a Second Wind is; One Day, One Community, One family at a time, meeting that family's individual needs.
