Salaam!
I am a homeschooling mum of four beautiful children and have loved drawing and all things creative for as long as I can remember. In fact, I think I may even love it more than I love coffee. But nothing beats combining the two! Picture a quiet early morning, sat at the table, drawing on your new, all-time favourite gadget with a cup of hot coffee, possibly a biscuit (or six!), and the chance to bring a story to life.
I'd like to say the biggest thank you to my husband without whom literally none of this would be possible. A big massive thank you for getting me a tablet to draw on!
My first picture book- Papa and the Missing Something- was actually inspired by my husband's journey to Islam (though his was very much different!) as there were no books on the market on the subject as far as my research had found and I had always tried to instill in my children how grateful we should be for the gift of faith but really, children learn a lot through memorable and relatable stories. And that's how this journey started!
A big thank you also to my mother-in-law for being my biggest fan and for encouraging me to make the book available to buy and also to my kids and my family and to everyone who read through and helped me improve the books.
This page would not be complete without mentioning my true loves when it comes to art- my beloved alcohol markers! I absolutely love drawing and journalling with them and wish there was a way I could use them to illustrate a whole book too!
Other things I love include reading, DIY, decorating, long walks in nature, the beach learning new skills, and a good game of stuck in the mud with the kids.
Alhamdulillah.
