Signal Vault Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 15, 2026
Signal Vault is a browser extension that helps users identify movie and TV titles on supported catalog pages and view related information through the Signal Vault service.
Information We Process
Signal Vault may process the title, year, media type, and page address of the currently active supported catalog page. This information is used only to identify the selected title and prepare a user-requested search. Signal Vault does not continuously monitor browsing activity.
Search terms, title identifiers, media type, season, and episode information may be sent securely to the Signal Vault service when the user starts a search.
The extension stores a random installation identifier, authentication token, account status, quota information, settings, and a limited search history in Chrome’s local storage. Local search history is limited to recent searches and does not store direct result URLs.
Activation and Purchase Information
Signal Vault uses activation codes instead of usernames and passwords. Activation codes, device identifiers, and authentication tokens are processed to activate the extension, verify access, prevent abuse, and enforce account limits.
Purchases are processed by Payhip. Signal Vault may receive the purchaser’s email address, transaction identifier, purchased plan, purchase date, and refund status from Payhip. Signal Vault does not receive or store complete credit card or bank account details.
Security Information
For security, fraud prevention, and service reliability, the Signal Vault gateway may store keyed hashes derived from IP addresses and browser user-agent information together with actions and timestamps. The application does not intentionally store raw IP addresses in its audit database.
How Information Is Used
Information is used only to:
- provide the extension’s user-facing features;
- activate and manage licenses;
- process user-requested searches;
- display account and quota status;
- process purchases and refunds;
- prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access;
- maintain the security and reliability of the service.
Data Sharing
Signal Vault does not sell user data or use it for advertising, credit scoring, or unrelated purposes.
Information may be processed by service providers that are necessary to operate Signal Vault, including Payhip for purchases, hosting and email providers, and the private Signal Vault processing service. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or necessary to protect the service against fraud, abuse, or security threats.
Data Retention
Local extension data remains in Chrome until it is removed by the user, cleared from browser storage, or the extension is uninstalled.
License, purchase, refund, and security records are retained only as long as necessary to operate the service, handle support and refunds, prevent abuse, and comply with applicable legal obligations.
Security
Signal Vault uses HTTPS for communication with its service. Executable JavaScript and WebAssembly are not downloaded from remote servers. All executable extension code is included in the extension package.
User Choices and Deletion
Users can remove locally stored extension data by uninstalling Signal Vault or clearing the extension’s storage. Requests concerning stored account information or deletion can be submitted using the contact address below.
Limited Use
Signal Vault’s use of information obtained through Chrome extension permissions complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Information is used only to provide or improve the extension’s disclosed purpose.
