⚠️ Important Notice for Cricut Design Space Users

What’s happening:

After the latest Design Space update, Cricut began importing SVG templates at random scales instead of the original file size. This means when you upload a template, it might appear too large or too small compared to the intended measurements. Unfortunately, this is an ongoing bug/behavior in Design Space and is not something I can fix on my end.

Why this matters:

Accurate scaling is crucial for miniatures—just a small size mismatch can throw off an entire project. Since Design Space doesn’t allow exporting templates directly, I can’t re-size the file for you within the app.

✅ How to Fix It

1. Check for a Scale Reference

Most of my newer templates include both a 1 cm and a 1 inch reference square.

When you import the SVG into Design Space, measure either reference square. If it doesn't match 1 cm or 1 inch, select all the elements, group them, and adjust the size proportionally until the reference square measures correctly.

Most of my newer templates also include the actual measurements in the instruction file. It's always a good idea to read the instructions before using a template, as they often contain helpful information and tips!

2. For Older Templates

These may not include a reference square.

Contact me for the exact intended width of the template.

In Design Space:

Import the SVG

Select all → Group

In the width box, type the correct overall width and press Enter.

🛠️ Moving Forward

To make this easier, all my newer templates include both a 1 cm and a 1 inch reference square and the actual measurements in the instruction file for an extra way to verify that everything imported at the correct size.
