⚠️ Important Notice for Cricut Design Space Users
What’s happening:
After the latest Design Space update, Cricut began importing SVG templates at random scales instead of the original file size. This means when you upload a template, it might appear too large or too small compared to the intended measurements. Unfortunately, this is an ongoing bug/behavior in Design Space and is not something I can fix on my end.
Why this matters:
Accurate scaling is crucial for miniatures—just a small size mismatch can throw off an entire project. Since Design Space doesn’t allow exporting templates directly, I can’t re-size the file for you within the app.
✅ How to Fix It
1. Check for a Scale Reference
Most of my newer templates include a 1 cm reference square.
When you import the SVG, measure that square in Design Space. If it’s not 1 cm, select all the elements, group them, and adjust the width proportionally until the square measures exactly 1 cm.
2. For Older Templates
These may not include a reference square.
Contact me for the exact intended width of the template.
In Design Space:
Import the SVG
Select all → Group
In the width box, type the correct overall width and press Enter.
🛠️ Moving Forward
To make this easier, all my future templates will include a visual scale reference square so you can quickly correct any scaling issues.
