I'm Matteo Pacor, from Italy.

I started collecting results and stats with the help of my father Aldo who covered the Alpine Ski World Cup since the early '70s.

Helping him, I started to organize results from books (the wonderful Biorama ski made by Serge and Patrick Lang and the Kaestle ski guide redacted by ORF commentator Robert Seeger). Plus official results, magazines, books.

I started my database structure in 1989 using DBase III+ under MS-DOS. Three simple tables: Athletes, Races, Results.

Under windows I switched to MS Access which is still my preferred application. I'm not a programmer and my technical skills are limited. But curiosity and feedback from friends commentators and fans never stops.

I published the first pages on the web under skibox name. But this was a commercial brand and I decided to use ski-db (skidb).

I don't have much time left for ski-db, now. And I share all the data....

Enjoy!
