About Me
Mark Johnston is a NASA Solar System Ambassador, award-winning solar astrophotographer, and longtime solar observer known online as @azastroguy. He serves as Vice President of the Phoenix Astronomical Society, is a board member of the Astro Society and an ambassador for both ACEAP and Telescope.live.
His solar imagery has appeared in NASA’s Astronomy Picture of the Day, Astronomy Magazine, Sky & Telescope, and Space.com. He wrote The Solar Observer’s Handbook to help visual observers and imagers understand what they are seeing on the Sun, choose better equipment, improve their technique, and observe safely.
