About Me
Lena Reyes has spent more than a decade travelling solo across Southeast Asia,
logging thousands of kilometres through Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia,
and the Philippines. She first visited Thailand at 24, backpacking alone through
Bangkok and the northern mountains with nothing but a guidebook from 2003 and
a lot of misplaced confidence. She made every mistake in the book — and a few that
weren't in any book.
She was scammed by a tuk-tuk driver in Bangkok, overcharged by a taxi at the
airport, and spent one very memorable evening locked out of a hostel in Chiang Mai
because she hadn't checked the check-in hours. She went back six more times.
Each trip was smarter, safer, and more confident than the last.
Over the years, Lena began documenting what actually makes solo female travel
safe — not the vague reassurances, not the lists of things to "just avoid," but the
specific systems, scripts, and frameworks that let women travel with genuine
confidence rather than managed anxiety.
