Me - in a nutshell
Welcome to Soul Fibers — where yarn becomes art, creativity becomes practice, and elegance always leaves room for play.
The Art of Sophrosyne Living
My name is Lydia Proschinger. I’m a 56-year-old queen-ager—and, naturally, an excellent vintage.
I live in Germany with my Golden Retriever, Sir Midas Fluffalot of Fluffington Castle.
I am a passionate fiber artist. I spin yarn, knit, crochet, and carry on what is probably the umpteenth generation of making things with thread, patience, imagination, and occasionally a little creative chaos.
Golden Morpheus inspired me to level up, launch Soul Fibers, and add some technical know-how to my creative mind. These days, creativity and technology jointly run the show—and apparently the administration—of Soul Fibers: The Art of Sophrosyne Living.
Soul Fibers is where creativity, craftsmanship, and self-regulation come together. For me, knitting is more than making beautiful things. It is a practice of patience, focus, graceful adaptation, and learning to grow with the flow rather than forcing the process.
That is the heart of Sophrosyne Living: choosing poise over reactivity, elegance over strain, and thoughtful action over hurried response. It is quiet self-command, with room for curiosity, beauty, humor, and sparkle. ✨
My designs are created for knitters who enjoy refined details, unusual construction, and projects that feel both engaging and meaningful.
Golden Morpheus, my original lace butterfly pattern, grew from my love of lace, transformation, and the quiet magic that can emerge from a few stitches and a little imagination.
