Welcome to Spark Education! I’m Dr. Michelle Peterson, an early childhood educator, researcher, and the founder of Spark Academy, a play-based preschool in Morton, Illinois.

I create practical, thoughtfully designed resources that help young children build confidence, independence, and connection at school and at home. My work brings together classroom experience, educational leadership, and doctoral research on peer engagement through play.
