1. About these Terms

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and purchase of digital products offered by SpeakFirstCo ("SpeakFirstCo", "we", "us" or "our") through our Payhip store.

SpeakFirstCo is a sole proprietorship based in Singapore.

By purchasing, downloading or using any SpeakFirstCo product, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not purchase or use our products.

2. Our Products

SpeakFirstCo sells digital Korean-language learning resources, including workbooks, PDF files, audio files and related educational materials.

No physical product will be shipped unless expressly stated otherwise on the relevant product page.

Product descriptions, previews and examples are provided to help you understand what you are purchasing. Minor differences in formatting, layout or presentation may occur as products are updated.

3. Digital Delivery

Digital products are delivered electronically through Payhip after successful payment.

You will normally receive access to a download page and an email containing your purchase information and download link.

You are responsible for:

providing a valid email address;

ensuring your device can open the applicable PDF and audio formats; and

downloading and safely storing your purchased files.

Your purchase provides you with a continuing personal licence to use the version of the files you purchased. You may retain your legitimately downloaded copies for your own personal use.

However, we cannot guarantee that Payhip, download links or other third-party hosting services will remain available indefinitely. We recommend downloading and backing up your files after purchase.

4. Prices, Currency and Taxes

Unless otherwise stated, prices are displayed in United States Dollars (USD).

Displayed product prices may exclude applicable VAT, GST, sales tax or similar taxes. Where required, taxes may be calculated and added during checkout based on factors such as your location.

Payhip and/or relevant payment or platform providers may calculate, collect or remit applicable taxes where required.

Payhip currently handles digital EU and UK VAT by default and allows taxes to be added on top of the listed product price.

5. Payment

Payments are processed through third-party payment providers, including Stripe and PayPal.

SpeakFirstCo does not directly store your full credit or debit card details.

Your use of a payment provider may also be subject to that provider's own terms and privacy policy.

An order is considered complete once payment has been successfully authorised and the digital product has been made available to you.

6. Personal-Use Licence

When you purchase a SpeakFirstCo product, you receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use that product for your personal educational use only.

Unless SpeakFirstCo expressly gives you written permission, you may not:

share the files with another person;

forward download links to another person;

upload the files to websites, cloud-sharing platforms, forums or social media;

reproduce or distribute the product;

resell the product;

modify and resell the product;

use the materials to create competing commercial learning resources;

make the files available to a class, organisation or group under a single individual purchase;

commercially exploit any workbook, audio file, exercise, dialogue, design or other material.

One purchase is intended for one individual user, unless the relevant product expressly states otherwise.

If you require classroom, group, school or commercial usage rights, please contact SpeakFirstCo separately.

7. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, the workbooks, written content, exercises, lesson structures, designs, graphics, branding and other original SpeakFirstCo materials are owned by the proprietor of SpeakFirstCo and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Purchasing a product does not transfer ownership of any intellectual property to you.

You receive only the personal-use licence described in these Terms.

8. Audio Content

Certain SpeakFirstCo products contain AI-generated Korean speech or pronunciation audio.

The audio is provided as an educational learning aid. Korean pronunciation, rhythm, accent, vocabulary and natural usage may vary between speakers, regions and contexts.

Although reasonable efforts are made to provide useful and accurate learning materials, the audio should not be treated as a guarantee that every speaker will pronounce or use an expression identically.

9. Educational Disclaimer

SpeakFirstCo provides educational resources intended to support Korean-language learning.

We do not guarantee:

fluency;

a particular level of Korean ability;

specific learning outcomes;

exam performance;

the ability to understand every native speaker;

conversational proficiency within a specific period; or

any particular travel, academic or professional outcome.

Results vary depending on factors including practice, consistency, prior knowledge, learning methods and individual circumstances.

SpeakFirstCo materials are educational resources and are not a replacement for personalised instruction where such instruction is required.

10. Accuracy of Korean-Language Content

We aim to provide useful, beginner-friendly and accurate Korean-learning materials.

However, language naturally varies by context, politeness level, speaker, region and situation. We do not warrant that every expression will be the only possible or appropriate way to communicate a particular meaning.

If you identify a possible error, please contact us so that we can review it.

11. Refunds

Because our products are digital, our refund rules differ from those applying to physical goods.

Once a digital product has been downloaded or accessed, purchases are generally non-refundable, except where a refund or other remedy is required by applicable law.

Nothing in these Terms excludes consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.

12. Technical Problems

If you experience difficulty downloading or opening a product, please contact us at [SUPPORT EMAIL].

Where possible, we will first attempt to resolve the issue by restoring access, providing another download link or replacing a corrupted file.

A technical issue that can reasonably be corrected does not automatically entitle the purchaser to a refund, except where required by applicable law.

13. Product Updates and Changes

SpeakFirstCo may from time to time:

correct errors;

update explanations or examples;

revise workbook layouts;

replace or update audio;

add or remove material;

change product prices;

rename products; or

discontinue products.

Purchasing one version of a product does not automatically entitle you to every future edition, replacement product or major revision unless expressly stated otherwise.

We may provide updates to existing customers at our discretion.

14. Availability

We may modify, suspend or discontinue a product at any time.

Where you have already purchased and downloaded a product, discontinuation does not terminate your personal licence to use the copy you legitimately downloaded.

15. Payhip and Third-Party Services

Our online store and digital delivery are provided using Payhip.

Payments may be processed by Stripe, PayPal or other payment methods made available through the platform.

SpeakFirstCo does not control the continuous availability, security or operation of third-party services and is not responsible for outages or failures outside our reasonable control.

16. Minors

SpeakFirstCo resources may be used by teenagers and younger learners.

However, if you are below the age at which you are legally able to enter into a binding purchase contract in your country, your purchase should be made or authorised by a parent or legal guardian.

By making a purchase, you represent that you have the legal capacity to do so or that the purchase has been appropriately authorised.

17. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SpeakFirstCo will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential or special losses arising from your use of or inability to use a product.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.

18. Breach of Licence

If we reasonably believe that a product has been unlawfully shared, distributed, resold or commercially exploited, we may terminate the licence associated with that purchase and, where appropriate, restrict future access.

This does not prevent us from pursuing other remedies available under applicable law.

19. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, without prejudice to mandatory consumer rights that may apply in the country where you live.

If a dispute arises, we encourage you to contact us first at [SUPPORT EMAIL] so that we can attempt to resolve the matter in good faith.

If the dispute cannot be resolved informally, it will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore, except where applicable consumer law gives you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.

Electronic contracts are recognised under Singapore's Electronic Transactions Act.

20. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when our products, business practices, platforms or legal obligations change.

The updated version will be posted on our store with a revised effective date.

The Terms that applied when you purchased a product will generally govern that purchase, subject to changes required by law.
