Emily Stamets

I create knitting designs inspired by phenomenal women+ in the arts & sciences. My design approach and aesthetic are informed by my background in theatrical design, and my patterns are informed by my experience as a teacher.

I believe that fiber work should be fun and also make a difference in the world. I am a proud Social Justice Warrior; Black lives matter, trans lives matter, Native lives matter.

When I'm not knitting, I'm running the Old Julian Garage gift shop, teaching theatre workshops, or wrangling chickens. I live with my cat, my husband, my mom, and my husband's mom (although not necessarily in that order) in The Stamets Home for Wayward Mothers, located in San Diego County, CA, USA.
