Steven Bernstein WGA, DGA, ASC

Steven Bernstein is one of Hollywood's most versatile filmmakers. He shot the Oscar-winning Monster - for which Charlize Theron won Best Actress - along with, Like Water for Chocolate (at the time the highest-grossing foreign-language film in US history), and over 80 other films and television productions. He received an ASC Award nomination for his cinematography on the hit series Magic City. As a writer-director, his credits include Decoding Annie Parker, starring Samantha Morton and Helen Hunt, and Last Call, starring John Malkovich and Rhys Ifans. He trained in London, where he spent much of his early career, and was later invited by the Greek government to help rebuild that country's film industry. He is the author of the textbook Film Production (Focal Press), a standard text in film schools worldwide, and hosts the podcast Filmmaker and Fan's.
