I'm Bernhard Kirchner, founder of Syn Data Labs. I work with organizations in regulated markets to build AI systems that withstand scrutiny, and I write about how that work is actually done.

Before this I served as a U.S. Army officer and Foreign Area Officer, led planning and operations across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Africa, and worked on privacy and technology policy at Fordham Law's Center on Law and Information Policy and the New York City Office of Information Privacy. Across those roles I kept meeting the same gap: systems that worked until outside scrutiny demanded proof.

That gap became the Defensible AI Method, and this book.
