Hi, I’m Manuela Grace Werner — a Ugandan-German mother, author, and the heart behind The Roots We Give.

Growing up between two cultures has shaped how I see the world. I know what it feels like to have your belonging questioned, and I’ve learned to embrace both sides of who I am. Becoming a mother made passing that confidence on even more meaningful.

With my daughter, I keep our heritage alive through Luganda, family stories, traditions, and time spent in Uganda. It isn’t always perfect, but every little connection matters.

I created The Roots We Give to help families raising children away from their ancestral homes nurture those connections. My vision is a community where parents feel supported in passing on their languages and cultures, and children grow up proud of every part of who they are.

My first book, Our Roots Our Gift, is part of that journey. Through honest stories and practical ideas, I hope to help families make heritage part of everyday life.

Because the roots we give our children can help them grow with confidence, wherever life takes them.
