About me

Heather Paulson is a tech entrepreneur, author, and culinary creator based on Hawaiʻi Island. Through her books, she explores the rich connection between culture, nature, and storytelling—whether through thoughtfully crafted recipes inspired by the land and sea or stories that celebrate the beauty, history, and spirit of Hawaiʻi.

As the creator of the Ka ʻĀina Kai Culinary Collection and the Kahuna Nani book series, Heather's work is inspired by the people, traditions, and landscapes that make the Hawaiian Islands unlike anywhere else in the world. Her goal is to create beautiful books that inspire readers to cook, explore, and experience Hawaiʻi with curiosity, respect, and aloha.

Do you want to live Off Grid in Hawaii? Join My Masterclass. Living on Hawaiʻi Island has taught me that the best meals begin long before they reach the kitchen. I spend my time spearfishing the Pacific, hunting wild boar in the island's forests, raising meat rabbits, chickens, and Muscovy ducks, and growing fresh organic produce. Every harvest is an opportunity to honor the land, the sea, and the responsibility that comes with providing food.

These experiences are the foundation of many recipes in my Recipe book Ka ʻĀina Kai. As well as my Novel Kundi Nani. From wild game and freshly caught seafood to homegrown vegetables and herbs, each dish reflects a deep appreciation for self-sufficiency, sustainability, and the incredible natural abundance of Hawaiʻi. My hope is to inspire others to reconnect with where their food comes from and to embrace the adventure of harvesting, preparing, and sharing it with family and friends.
