Healing Forecast: Becoming the Version of Me I Keep Dreaming About

There’s a version of me I think about often.

She wakes up with intention.

She trusts herself.

She follows through.

She doesn’t shrink when life gets uncomfortable.

She moves like she knows she deserves the life she prays for.

And lately… I’ve realized something hard.

I cannot become her while holding onto the habits, mindset, and comfort zones that were created to protect an older version of me.

That realization has been heavy.

Because healing isn’t always soft music, bubble baths, and inspirational quotes. Sometimes healing looks like grieving the person you had to become to survive. Sometimes it looks like sitting with yourself long enough to admit:

“I’ve outgrown this version of me.”

And honestly? That can feel lonely.

There’s a strange tension that happens when your heart is ready to grow, but your mind still craves familiarity.

When your dreams are pulling you forward, but your comfort zone is begging you to stay where things feel safe.

Even if “safe” is slowly draining you.

I think that’s where I am right now.

In between.

Not who I used to be…

but not fully who I’m becoming yet either.

And maybe that’s okay.

Maybe growth was never supposed to feel graceful all the time. Maybe it’s supposed to feel like stretching into a life you’ve never lived before. Maybe it’s supposed to feel unfamiliar.

Because the truth is:

the life I want requires a different version of me.

A softer me.

A disciplined me.

A healed me.

A consistent me.

A me that stops abandoning herself every time things get hard.

That version of me cannot keep choosing fear over possibility.

She cannot keep calling herself “stuck” while refusing to move differently.

She cannot keep waiting until she feels perfectly ready.

And neither can I.

So lately, I’ve been trying to give myself permission to evolve without guilt.

To stop romanticizing the comfort zone that’s quietly keeping me unhappy.

To stop returning to old patterns just because they’re familiar.

To stop shrinking myself to fit spaces I already know I’ve outgrown.

I want more for myself now.

Not just financially.

Not just professionally.

But mentally. Emotionally. Spiritually.

I want peace that lasts longer than a moment.

I want routines that love me back.

I want to become someone I’m proud of when nobody’s watching.

And maybe the hardest part of growth is understanding that no one can save you from your own potential. At some point, you have to decide that staying the same hurts more than changing.

I think I’m finally getting there.

Slowly.

Honestly.

Imperfectly.

So if you’re reading this while standing in the uncomfortable space between who you were and who you’re trying to become… this is your reminder:

You are not failing because growth feels difficult.

You are not behind because healing takes time.

And you are not weak for struggling to let go of old versions of yourself.

Becoming takes courage.

But I think we’re ready now.

One choice at a time.

One boundary at a time.

One healed version of ourselves at a time. 🤍

Reflection / Homework 🤍

Tonight, sit with yourself honestly.

Not the version of you everyone else expects.

Not the version of you that performs, survives, or hides behind comfort.

The real you.

Take out a journal or open the notes app on your phone and answer these questions:

  1. What habits, environments, or mindsets am I holding onto simply because they feel familiar?
  2. What version of me am I trying to become?
  3. What would that version of me stop tolerating immediately?
  4. What is one small thing I can do this week that aligns with the person I say I want to be?
  5. Am I choosing comfort… or growth?

Then make yourself one promise:

Stop waiting for a “perfect moment” to become who you already know you’re meant to be.

Healing is not about becoming a completely different person.

It’s about returning to yourself without fear. 🤍
