I’m Teacher Mike, an English teacher from the UK. I’ve been teaching since 2017, with learners from age 4 right up to adults: full time in a private secondary school, on holiday camps at international schools (where I also helped write the syllabuses and materials), and these days mostly online.

I hold a 200-hour Advanced TEFL certificate accredited by ACCREDITAT, and before teaching I took a degree in Web and Multimedia with Marketing. The two halves work well together: the teacher in me decides what a lesson needs, and the web training lets me build it.

I’ve taught every level and age group, with a soft spot for teenagers and upper-intermediate learners who are ready to push on. Most of my students are in China and Singapore.

A teacher who builds his own tools

I build my own materials. My interactive HTML lessons are designed screen-first for online teaching, with audio, images and answer-checking built into a single file. AI tools help with the technical build; the content, the questions and the checking are mine.

Everything I make follows the same principle: it should work straight away, look inviting and never get in the way of actual teaching. British English throughout.
