Dear teacher friend...

You are not just a teacher. You are the soil from which everything grows — your students' confidence, your classroom's energy, the quality of your relationships. And for too long, you've been handed chemical fertilizer: quick fixes, surface solutions, "rest when the term ends." It felt like something. It never reached deep enough.

You Are The Soil is a 4-week restoration guide built specifically for the Caribbean educator who is ready for nourishment that actually lasts — not another wellness checklist tacked onto a planner.

Grounded in the RISE Method, this workbook walks you through:

  • Week 1 — Know Your Soil: An honest, judgment-free assessment of where you really are
  • Week 2 — Add the Organic Matter: The four kinds of nourishment your mind, body, soul, and relationships actually need
  • Week 3 — Let the Roots Go Deep: Building a personal rhythm you'll actually keep, not just plan
  • Week 4 — Prepare for the Bloom: Evaluating and evolving with intention — so September doesn't catch you depleted

Inside, you'll find:

  • A Soil Assessment + "What Depleted My Soil" reflection
  • A "What Kind of Soil Are You Right Now?" quiz (Parched, Compacted, Waterlogged, or Ready)
  • Coping vs. Nourishing breakdowns, built for real Caribbean teacher life
  • Daily Check-In Trackers (water, movement, mood, gratitude) for all 4 weeks
  • Weekly Nourishment Ratings across Mind, Body, Soul & Connection
  • A Personal Restoration Rhythm map + Nourishment Menu
  • A sealed Letter to Your Future Self (open in January)
  • The Organic Nourishment Pledge to close it all out

Format: 8.5×11, available in printable PDF and digital versions — so you can journal by hand or work through it on your tablet.

This isn't about doing more. It's about tending what's already growing you.

Design Your Week Before the Week Designs You
Most teachers don’t start their week — they survive it. They rush into Monday already tired. They react instead of reset. They manage everyone else’s needs while their own stay last on the list. But here’s the truth: Your week will always design you...

The Weekly Reset Your Nervous System Has Been Asking For

Planning Is Self-Care: Entering 2026 with Intention

About Me

I'm Alicia Charles, M.Ed — a Literacy Coach, Caribbean educator, and the founder of TeachersRISE.

I believe teacher wellbeing isn't built through generic self-care tips. It's built through systems — clear, sustainable structures that let you show up for your students without running yourself into the ground.

That belief is the foundation of the RISE Method — Reflect, Implement, Schedule, Evaluate & Evolve — a framework designed specifically for the realities of a teacher's life, not a wellness influencer's. Every resource at TeachersRISE, from free wellbeing check-ins to full workbooks, is built to help you implement and sustain simple systems that support your wellbeing all year long.

Most recently, that work has grown into a new lens: you are the soil. Not the gardener. Not the tool. The foundation everything else in education grows from. It's a reminder that the systems you build aren't extra — they're what keeps you fertile enough to keep giving.

This isn't about doing more. It's about building the systems that let you grow well.

Together, we will Grow Well. Let's RISE together.
