About Me
I’m Dr. Chase Young, a professor of literacy, former elementary teacher and reading specialist, and Editor-in-Chief of Reading Research Quarterly. My work focuses on helping teachers turn reading research into practical instruction that actually works in real classrooms.
I’ve spent more than 20 years working in literacy as a teacher, researcher, author, and professional learning provider. I’m the author or coauthor of several books on reading instruction, including Artfully Teaching the Science of Reading and Build Reading Fluency.
The resources here are designed to make strong literacy instruction a little easier. They’re practical, research-informed, classroom-ready, and built to be used and not just downloaded and forgotten.
