No special software is required for Canva templates. However having a Canva pro account gives you more flexibility to be creative with your design. For other formats (Photoshop, Illustrator, Pics art ), you’ll need the corresponding software.

Each template includes step-by-step video instructions showing sizing, styling, and how to modify elements to match your project. For premade designs, you can easily add names, pictures, or text to make it your own. Everything you need, including step-by-step video explanations and product links, is provided in your purchased PDF file. You do not need a special printer — any regular desktop printer with standard ink will work.

For best results, I recommend using dark heat transfer paper. You can also use light heat transfer paper, but in my experience, the quality of the paper directly affects the final image, so higher-quality heat transfer paper will give better results for your designs.

Sizing instructions are included in the step-by-step video with your purchase. Exact dimensions are not provided because every ball is unique. For best results, measure the length and height of your ball, then resize your template to match those measurements. Beginners may want to start with smaller balls, as they fit easily on standard 8.5 × 11” HTV paper.

In general, the quality of your HTV paper makes a big difference. Holding the heat gun at the right distance and gently pulling the material tighter also helps. Still, wrinkles are almost impossible to avoid completely the key is to take your time and do your best to minimize them as much as possible.
