Hello! I'm Jane Forster Hicks — teacher, traveller and completely, unapologetically obsessed with New York City.

I've been to New York eight times. I'm already planning my ninth. Over the years, friends and colleagues kept asking me the same questions before their trips — where should I eat, what's actually worth seeing, how do I get around, what's the deal with tipping? So I started writing it all down.

The Forster-Hicks Edit was born out of a simple idea — that the best travel advice doesn't come from a generic guidebook. It comes from someone who genuinely loves a place and wants you to love it too.

My guides are written the way I'd talk to a friend sitting across the kitchen table. Honest, practical, full of the things nobody else tells you — and absolutely packed with the places I'd take you myself if I could.
